A school that grew from one living room into a home for hundreds of learners.
Determined Primary School gives children in Maramba, Livingstone a foundation for life — academic, personal, and rooted in community.
Welcome
Determined Primary School sits in the Maramba area of Livingstone, Zambia, offering pre-primary and primary education to children from about three to sixteen years old. It began as one woman's living room and grew, family by family, into an established school.
Every day here is built around a simple belief: every child can succeed when they are given encouragement, guidance, and room to grow at their own pace. Around ten teachers work to make that belief real for every learner who walks through the gate.
Why families choose us
Strong early foundations
Particular care is placed on the early years, building literacy, numeracy, and communication skills that carry through every later stage.
Small, supportive classrooms
Teachers get to know each learner's strengths, so children feel safe, valued, and motivated to take part.
Character alongside academics
Confidence, respect, and responsibility are taught as deliberately as reading and mathematics.
Community roots
Built by a community, for a community — family support and volunteer involvement remain part of daily life at the school.
Our story, in brief
Loveness began teaching children from the living room of her own home. Word spread, families kept arriving, and with the support of relatives and neighbours, that living room grew into a proper school.
